Latham Enamel Normal Flux T200, 15gm
Latham Enamel Normal Flux T200, 15gm

This normal enamel flux is used as a base for Copper and Silver. Enamel flux, or transparent enamel, can be used for several purposes during the enamelling process. It is most commonly used as an undercoat on enamelled pieces before applying coloured enamels, to ensure the colours remain vibrant and do not begin to react with metal oxides during firing, which can cause colours to appear dull. It can also be used as a final top coat layer to add depth to an enamelled design or to prevent a particularly reactive colour from darkening under additional firing. Clear flux can also be used as a base for cloisonnè enamelling techniques, used to set cloisonnè wires in place on your metal without the use of solder. This normal flux for enamelling is approximately 80 mesh particle size, meaning most of the grains would pass through a screen that has 80 openings per linear inch. The firing temperature is 820-840°C. Contains lead and arsenic. Supplied in a 15g tube. Can be used as a base for Copper and Silver Use as an undercoat or final top coat layer Also great for cloisonnè enamelling techniques 80 mesh particle size
