Malachite is a copper carbonate mineral, easily identifiable by its alternating rich green tones and distinctive banding. Malachite has generally been known as the stone of transformation, excellent for its cleansing energy and for encouraging healing and growth. This round malachite cabochon measures 6mm. Malachite has a hardness of 3.5 - 4 on the Mohs scale and a specific gravity of 3.6 - 4. Please note that due to the nature of the stone, each cabochon is unique so pattern and banding will vary and slight natural inclusions are sometimes faintly visible. Care: As with all gemstones, care must be taken. It is not advised to place malachite stones in an ultrasonic, steam cleaner or chemical cleaning solution. Malachite can be easily cleaned with a warm soapy water mix or an untreated cloth. It is advised to avoid exposing malachite to prolonged periods of heat and light. A slight tolerance of +/- 0.25mm should be expected with these stones and these malachite are sold individually.
