Moonstone is a variety from the Feldspar family, easily identifiable by its milky sheen, known as adularescence. With warm peachy-orange colours and translucent clarity, peach moonstone has a beautiful surface chatoyancy which gives the stone a moonlight effect. Moonstone has generally been known as the stone of new beginnings and is excellent for inner growth and strength, whilst peach moonstone provides soothing and emotional relief. This round peach moonstone cabochon measures 6mm. Moonstone has a hardness of 6 - 6.5 on the Mohs scale and a specific gravity of 2.61. Please note that due to the nature of the stone, each cabochon is unique so adularescence and colours may vary and slight natural inclusions are sometimes faintly visible. Care: As with all gemstones, care must be taken. It is not advised to place moonstone in an ultrasonic, steam cleaner or chemical cleaning solution. Moonstone can be easily cleaned with a warm soapy water mix or an untreated cloth. It is advised to avoid exposing moonstone to prolonged periods of heat and light. A slight tolerance of +/- 0.25mm should be expected with these stones and these moonstones are sold individually.
