Amazon Racks combine the tough resilience of a rotomoulded double lid rack case with a lightweight 19” chassis and a unique elastomeric suspension system. They are designed to protect more fragile equipment, including electronics, IT and telecommunications, from challenging physical and climatic environments though the 5 x Climate Zones from the Tropics to the Polar caps.
All Amazon Racks (excluding the removable ‘EasyGlide’ option) have a user-adjustable inner rack chassis that can be positioned 25mm forward or back from its central position. Allowing the accommodation of varying front panel and rear wiring needs. Sway space between the rack frame and the rotomoulded rack case outer body allows for maximum chassis excursion. Thereby minimising shock, vibration and impact damage during rough handling and demanding applications. Amazon Racks feature all of the benefits of our range of Amazon Cases, including the patented male-female lid groove to prevent lid displacement due to sideways forces.
End user adjustable – fore and aft 19” chassis positioning
Flexible rack positioning allows you to fix the inner frame closer to the front or the rear of the case. All Amazon Racks (excluding the removable ‘EasyGlide’ option) have a user-adjustable inner rack chassis that can be positioned 25mm forward or back from its (factory fitted) central position. This flexibility enables you to accommodate a range of front panel and rear wiring requirements.
EasyGlide™ Removable Chassis System
EasyGlide™ - The Fluoralon (high temperature / low friction) coated stainless steel slide rail system facilitates the complete removal of the 19” inner chassis. This allows 360° access for easy population of equipment and wiring / cabling installation. The fully populated chassis can then be easily reinserted into EasyGlide system and securely locked in place with 4 x stainless steel R clips.
Standard and custom sizing for Amazon 19” racks
Our standard range of Amazon Racks feature 19” inner suspended chassis from 4u to 14u heights (in 2u intervals) and with 5 x DIN / ISO standard chassis depths of 350mm, 480mm 610mm, 740mm and 840mm. Custom chassis sizing is also available on special request.
Anti-vibration solutions for transporting electronic equipment
Each standard Amazon Rack has eight elastomeric anti-vibration mounts (AVMs) set at a 45° angle towards centre of the rack frame. This provides an optimised shock protection system in all orientations. Every AVM system is calibrated to best match the shock / vibration requirements of the equipment. If fragility data is known, we provide the best suited attenuation to protect the electronics. Stiffer elastomeric mounts are available for payloads in excess of 50kg. Elastomeric mounts can also be fitted in tandem at each corner of the internal suspended frame, to give a total of 16 anti-vibration mounts. WRM (wire rope mounts) are another chassis suspension option we can provide – where repeated high levels of shock and / or severe drop conditions prevail.
Amazon Racks - customisable options and accessories
Amazon Racks have the flexibility to accommodate your specific needs. Customisable options include a choice of injection moulded handles, powder-coated stainless steel handles or transportation tie downs, as well as standard cam-operated butterfly latches. Grounding points can be fitted to promote the discharge of static electricity and rack straps can be added to secure two or multiple racks together when stacked. This also allows the racks to be aligned at the front, regardless of individually different rack depths. Lid hangers can be factory fitted to enable stowage of lids when the rack is in use. Cable storage pouches (retrofitting options are also available). Labelling options include engraved metal, back printed, non-scratch polycarbonate and write-on/wipe-off labels, as well as document holders.
Support for heavy payloads
Heavy payloads can be additionally supported with stiffening rings at the rack body front and rear to facilitate structural integrity when stacking heavy racks on top of each other. Fixed equipment support rails and stainless steel full width shelving systems are also readily available. Recessed edge wheels and removable wheel boards are available to support ergonomic handling of heavier loads. Interstackers allow Amazon Racks to be securely match-stacked onto Amazon Cases and vice versa. Amazon wheelboards are available fitted with 4 x swivel castors with elastomeric tyres, capable of carrying loads of up to 300kg.
