CPM’s stairway to the beach
05-11-2015
Contractors, Andrew Scott Ltd are currently working on a new RNLI (Royal National Lifeboat Institution) lifeboat station in Portishead, Somerset which includes a 60m long launch ramp, a low water launch area, and a beach access staircase as well as the lifeboat station itself.
Work on the ramp, the water launch area and beach access staircase has now been completed and the life station construction is well underway.
The beach access staircase has been built using CPM’s Redi-Rock™ cobblestone modular walling and makes access to the beach both easier and safer for those wishing to use it and offers a natural looking stone appearance to the set of stairs.
Gavin Evans, project manager for Andrew Scott Ltd. said:
“We are pleased to report that all on shore works were completed in time to meet with the planning consent, which was in place to protect migratory birds.
Work on the actual lifeboat station has also progressed with more steel framework being fixed into place, internal walls are being built a concrete staircase is now in situ, and the external brick face is well under way.”
