We are delighted to announce that we have this week been appointed as a Notified Body against the 2014/30/EU Electromagnetic Compatibility Directive
The European Commission in Brussels have formally released a Notification of a Body in the framework of a technical harmonization directive certificate to Cranage Veritas. This significant development comes just two months after we announced that we have been accredited by INAB (Irish National Accreditation Board) against the quality management requirements of ISO/IEC 17065: 2012 for the EMC Directive 2014/30/EU. The Notified Body status comes following a recommendation to ComReg after an extensive INAB audit process at our Cranage Veritas Limerick office; this included an assessment of key processes, skills and technical abilities. This appointment, specifically under Annex III of the EMC Directive, means we can now offer EU-Type examinations on the technical design of electronic and electrical apparatus, attesting and verifying that the essential requirements governed in Annex I of EMC Directive 2014/30/EU have been fulfilled. The importance of providing this service to Irish manufacturers serves not only as an indication of a product’s compliance with EU legislation, but provides them with confidence and reassurance surrounding CE marking obligations. In addition, the Irish manufacturing community can also use us as an independent authority to assess technical files for CE marking purposes, conformity assessment services for manufacturers with in-house testing facilities, and the opportunity to access the European market via a local Product Certification Body. Our Cranage Veritas Managing Director, Jon Jones, said: “It has been a very busy and exciting 2019 for the Cranage Veritas team, keeping up the momentum of our recent INAB 17065 accreditation we have been awarded with EMC Notified Body status. This fantastic achievement reinforces our commitment to our clients and the Irish Manufacturing Industry. Our strategic growth within Ireland reaffirms Cranage Veritas as market leaders and offers our outstanding expertise in conformity assessment to our clients. We also plan to add to our accreditation next year and hope to be in a position to make a statement early in 2020 relating to this.” Cranage Veritas is a subsidiary of Cranage EMC Testing, an industry leader celebrating 25 years of testing Product Safety, EMC and Environmental Performance for national, European and worldwide markets. At Cranage Veritas we are also able to offer a host of technical and product testing services. Together with the accredited facilities in the UK, we offer many solutions for evaluating products, such as compliance testing against published standards in a controlled laboratory environment or field evaluation at manufacturing premises.
