SW - Wide. SM - Medium. SN - Narrow.
These SPIRO bearings are designed to sustain high loads at speeds higher than conventional single or multiple track bearings.
SPIRO bearings will permit axial float or combined linear and rotary movements within the limits of the ball track width and race width dimensions.
SPIRO bearings are smaller in diameter for any given load bearing capacity compared with most conventional ball and roller bearings.
Instead of following each other around a single track or set of tracks, the balls are set in a helical path in the cage ensuring NO TWO BALLS RUN ON THE SAME ROW. This almost eliminates wear and ensures even distribution of load along the whole length of the bearing. Improved lubrication is achieved as grease or oil is displaced by each ball into the path of the next.
The standard SPIRO bearing has a SPIROSIN laminate ball retaining cage providing a low coefficient of friction, great strength and a specific gravity half that of aluminium. It is resistant to abrasion and has excellent lubricant retaining properties. Complete freedom from vibration ensures long life.
C.P.E are happy to discuss requirements for bearings from 6mm inner diameter to over 300mm outer diameter.
