When is a Heat Sealer not what you think?
07-08-2017
How does a shrink wrap sealer differ from a heat sealer, and how to choose the right one to seal and protect your product with shrink film or lay flat tube.
Are you using the right heat sealer for the Job
Some days we can take 15 phone calls in one day that relate to either heat sealing machines or simple shrink wrap systems. Out of these 15 calls we can safley say that at least 3 of those calls will be from people who are not happy with the look of their shrink wrapped products or they think that the seal on their lay fat tube or poly bag is not strong enough.
Why does the wrong sealer get us
There are three main reason's why the wrong sealer is often used
1) They look the same
2) Standard heat sealer's are often cheaper
3) Shrink wrap sealers as a rule only start at 400mm wide
What is the difference between shrink wrap and standard heat sealer
Shrink Wrap Sealer
When you want to shrink wrap a product to make it presentable the the seal around the product needs to be thin often called a bead seal. To do this a shrink wrap sealer uses a thin wire that heats up with an impulse of low voltage electricity hence the reason why they are often called an impulse sealer. This hot wire cuts and also seals in one operation leaving behind a thin seal that also nearly disapears once heat is applied to the shrink wrap film via a hot air blower.
We have some great entry level Shrink Wrap Systems that include the right sealer and the hot air shrink wrap blowers to give you perfect shrink wrapped results easily and quickly.
