FEA - Finite Element AnalysisFinite Element Analysis is one of the main tools used by our team of skilled engineers to help provide robust, timely answers to our clients.Doug White, DC White’s founder and principal engineer, was an early adopter of FEA 40 years ago, having written a non-linear FEA package for aero engines. Since then we have continued, where necessary, to write bespoke FEA software for non-linear dynamic systems.At DC White, we have unrivalled knowledge of Finite Element Analysis, leading, in some cases to being sub-contracted by other engineering consultants.Our great working experience enables us to harness the power of FEA to provide highly effective, tailored solutions for projects from as little as £2k to those in the hundreds of thousands.We use Finite Element Analysis to undertake pre-build Design Substantiation, vital in the early stages of planning, to ensure costly mistakes aren’t incurred at the full testing or build stages. As part of our FEA service, we also offer:- Thermal studies- Vibration Analysis- Seismic Analysis (validation for earthquake zones)- Stress Analysis (dynamic, non-linear materials, creep, impact)- Fatigue AnalysisOur experience and skills allow us to produce, where required, Bespoke Designs and our Troubleshooting and Failure Investigation services extend to Expert Witness and Safety Case studies.Currently, our favoured tools are SolidWorks Simulation and Autopipe, though we also use Abaqus, and NX Nastran when required.For more information on FEA please contact us
