WCC Ladies Takeover Event – Level 39 Canary Wharf

The Women of Waterproofing co-founders and Delta’s Diversity and Inclusion Ambassadors Georgia Burbridge and Rachel Munro were delighted to join the Worshipful Company of Constructors in association with the National Association of Women in Construction at their Ladies Takeover the City – Women Leading Construction Event held on Monday 23 September 2019. Offering stunning views of Canary Wharf and London the impressive rooms at Level 39, One Canada Square was sure to inspire all who attended. The “Ladies Takeover Event” was sponsored by The Worshipful Company of Constructors, The National Association of Women in Construction (Nawic), Mayer Brown, Silver Shemmings ASH, Canary Wharf Group Plc, Morley Von Sternberg and Delta Membrane Systems Limited. The Event was aimed at assisting and encouraging women working in construction to consider taking up leadership roles, the opportunity for women to advance through the Worshipful Company of Constructors as well as to network, inspire and open new opportunities through collaboration. Master Mike Parrett of the Worshipful Company of Constructors opened the evening with Victoria Russell, Past Master offering her knowledge on the fantastic opportunities available to women joining the Worshipful Company and to the excellent careers in the sector. Inspiring presentations followed from Sue Kershaw of KPMG, NAWIC London and South East Chair, Cristina Lanz Azcarate and Sally Davis, Senior Partner of Mayer Brown. Delta’s very own Georgia Burbridge was delighted to pick winners of an Apple iPad and half day portrait shoot. All funds raised were donated to ”The Image of Women in Construction” Project. For anyone considering a role in the waterproofing sector, the Women of Waterproofing Networking Group is open to all. The Group seeks to promote gender equality whilst seeking to reduce skills gaps and create a more gender-equal workforce. The Women of Waterproofing Networking Group is an opportunity to meet like-minded ladies and build a strong business network.
