Asbestos Management Surveys have replaced what used to be known as Type 1 and Type 2 Asbestos Surveys. Type 1 asbestos surveys were simply presumptive surveys - everything apart from glass, wood, metal, etc would be presumed to contain asbestos. Type 2 asbestos surveys took Type 1 surveys a stage further by samples being taken of suspect materials to confirm or refute the presence of asbestos. Upon the release of HSG264 by the HSE, asbestos management surveys replaced Type 1 and Type 2 asbestos surveys.�
