Mean Well expanded upon their railway compliant DC/DC converter family with the introduction of the RSD-300 series (300W). With a range of different wattage models of 100W/150W/200W/300W available, Mean Well’s comprehensive line up of enclosed type single output DC/DC converters can fulfill numerous types of vehicle applications. The Mean Well RSD-300 series features 2:1 (±40%) wide input range and 4000VDC input/output isolation, and are characterized by 5G anti-vibration ability, wide range working temperature of -40~+70℃, protections for short circuit, overload, output over voltage, over temperature, and input reverse polarity, as well as built-in constant current limiting circuit and 40mm low profile design (1U compliance)…etc. With modern high efficiency circuit design, RSD-300 series boasts up to 91% of high efficiency. The entire series is semi-encapsulated for PCB protection to provide anti-moisture, anti-dust, heat dissipation as well as anti-vibration protection. Which allows them to be cooled without any forced-air and still work between -40℃ to +70℃ ambient temperature, perfectly suited to applications in a harsh environment. The design of these new converters are refer to ITE standards (IEC60950-1 and EN55022) and also comply with railway certificates (EN50155, IEC60571, IEC61373, EN50121-3-2), so that they are suitable to be used in all kinds of vehicles that equipped with DC power source. Possible applications include railway, metro rapid transit system, subway, bus, leisure trailer, and marine.
