MACMILLAN COFFEE MORNING IS AROUND THE CORNER… Have you ever thought about hosting your very own coffee morning to raise money for charity? Macmillan Coffee Morning is fast approaching and is officially the world’s biggest coffee morning, so there’s no better time to start. What is a coffee morning? Typically, a social gathering which happens in the morning, where coffee and various cakes are served to raise vital funds for charity. Who are Macmillan Cancer Support? Macmillan are a charity who offer support, information and advice for anyone living with cancer in the UK. Their goal is to help people find the best way through from the moment of diagnosis, so they can live life as fully as possible. Macmillan Coffee Morning: On 28th September, people all over the UK will host their own Coffee Mornings and any donations on the day will be made to Macmillan. Last year £27 million was raised and they are hoping for another successful year again in 2018. “It makes everything from inviting your friends to raising money a piece of cake” - Macmillan Cancer Support Top tips for the big day: Apply for your free Eden Springs Coffee Pack online, this will save some pennies and will maximise your proceeds on the day. Make sure you head online to the Macmillan website and claim your fundraising kit which includes: bunting, a tablecloth, balloons, cake flags and a winner’s ‘born to bake’ badge. This will make your get-together a whole lot more exciting. Download various games, invitations and thank you posters online, you can also host competitions and raffles on the day to have more fun whilst raising money. NB: It is possible to make your own private event open to the public, by posting the location and time on the online coffee morning map or promoting the details of your morning yourself by downloading posters/promotional material to put up in shops, at work or in the local community. Don’t want to host, but still wanting to participate? Still want to be a part of this amazing fundraiser without having to organise it? There’s plenty of ways to get involved. Keep your ears open because this is a very popular event and you may find that there is going to be a coffee morning at work, in your local community or some of your friends may be planning one Go online, and utilise the ‘find a coffee morning near you’ tool on the Macmillan website to see where your closest public gathering is Why not partner up and host along with someone else? This could be lots of fun and would grow the guest list, and we all know that more guests tend to mean more donations! Don’t forget the official coffee morning date is Friday 28th September 2018, but you can always hold yours on a different date which is most convenient for you and your guests. Competition time!
