Using a conversion harness is a low-loss alternative to using conversion modules because they eliminate one mated MTP pair across the link. Every connection in a link adds a degree of unwanted loss, but with HUBER+SUHNER's ultra-low-loss modules and harness assemblies, this loss is kept to an absolute minimum. This delivers flexibility but keeps the higher data rates required for today's businesses.A Base-24 fibre conversion harness allows users to convert their 24 fibre backbone trunk cables into Base-12 connections. The single Base-24 connection is split to provide two Base-12 connections.To help identify the MTP connector's base rate, HUBER+SUHNER uses colour-coding on their IANOS modules that is continued through to the strain-relief boots of their MTP cables enabling easier identification and helping to reduce or spot incorrectly mated connectors. Base-24 uses a red connector, Base-12 black and Base-8 grey connectors.
