The Toy Industry Awards recognises this and hosts their exciting annual awards presentation for the leading retailers, products and suppliers in the UK toy industry. This year’s awards event was the industry’s gala event at the Hilton Olympia Westminster Suite following the opening day of Toy Fair. Another major annual event for them. It was ‘a huge success!’ said the Head of Digital & Toy Trust Services.
These events are key dates in the toy world calendar, which provide excellent networking opportunities for industry colleagues to celebrate the first day of Toy Fair and to be the first to discover the winners of the toy retailer and supplier of the year awards, which are judged separately but awarded at the same event. These awards support responsible toy makers as they provide the magic of play!
As part of the British Toy & Hobby Association (BTHA) these awards were created to recognise the very best in toy retail, product design and toy supply for the UK and Ireland. They are the coveted awards for the year celebrating outstanding achievement and excellence.
The British Toy & Hobby Association judge and present the Retailer of the Year Awards, which recognise outstanding performers within the independent, specialist multiple, grocer, department store and online retail channels. The judging panel is made up of nationwide industry experts from BTHA membership, the BTHA Council and the toy industry press.
A Magic Redesign
“Winners commented on how they loved the new look and feel of our newly customised awards. There is a real feeling of quality and uniqueness about them and the materials used matched with its unique design, make it a very special trophy.” A new design was created for this year’s awards featuring digitally printed clear acrylic and polished nickel plated aluminium. The design focusses on the work and magic that goes into making, creating and selling toys! With 17 small and 3 large awards to present to their winners, the new design was received so well by the winners.
