Despite Recent Floods Farming a Growth Sector
The Telegraph recently reported that, according to the National Farmers Union, that despite the recent floods, farming in the UK is a growing sector that has defied the economic downturn. British farmers booster their economic output by 54 per cent between 2008 and 2012. The NFU said agriculture had contributed £24bn to the UK economy in 2012, up from just £16bn in 2007 and has proved itself to be one of the rare growth sectors in recent years. The rains certainly brought their challenges though and farmers have been further optimising their businesses by utilising rainwater harvesting tanks. By collecting rainwater from roofs and storing in vertical rainwater tanks and potable water tanks, farmers have been able to store large amounts of surplus water. With impending water rate rises and much talk of the forthcoming summer being one of the warmest on record, farmers will be able to make both financial and environmental gains for the months ahead. To learn about rainwater harvesting tanks, plastic water tanks, potable water tanks and the broader range of Enduramaxx tanks which includes; cone tanks, baffled water tanks and liquid fertiliser tanks, please get in touch.
