Fertilizer Prices On the Rise Again But Fertiliser Storage Tanks Could Be The Answer
Farmers Guardian recently detailed how fertiliser prices are again picking up and examined what this means for UK farmers. The build up of demand for nitrogen has been exacerbated by urea supply problems in the Middle East for one. Increasing demand and rising worlds prices also means that UK suppliers revised their prices before the end of 2013. However, prices published for February and March deliveries are now being further revised upwards. It is estimated that around 75 per cent of the UK nitrogen market for 2012/13 has now been committed to deliveries and orders and that it would now seem that any remaining uptake through new orders will be offered at higher prices. So for UK’s farmers, this volatile market could well be better controlled through bulk buying and safer storage for less wastage. Dedicated fertiliser storage tanks are one such solution to this. Ranging from 5000 litres through to a new large 30000 litre capacity, fertiliser can be bulk purchased and less frequent mixing time also presents a cost saving. A ribbed, one piece and u.v.-stabilised design ensures optimum storage conditions, reducing spoil and subsequent wastage.
