Further Greening Information For Scots – Dedicated Liquid Fertiliser Tanks
At last, Farming Minister Richard Lochhead has clarified long awaited greening regulations for Scottish farmers for the new Common Agricultural Policy, according to Aberdeen Journals. For farmers choosing the fallow option as part of their Environmental Focus Area obligation, the regulations state that fallow must include the period between 15 January and 15 July. The regulations include clarification on the cross compliance, or Good Agricultural and Environmental Condition rules relating to hedges and water courses. Under these regulations, farmers are not permitted to plough or apply fertiliser or pesticides within two metres of the centre line of a hedge, or on top of the bank of a watercourse or body of water. The rules relating to cultivation next to hedges will not come into force for crops sown after January 1 2015. Although not part of the regulations, the correct storage of liquid fertiliser and pesticides in farming is imperative. Enduramaxx provide dedicated liquid fertiliser tanks which store fertilizer safely, thanks to a rugged ribbed, uv-stabilised polyethylene design. And because they are available in sizes up to 30,000 litres, liquid fertiliser can be bough in bulk and stored pre-mixed, bringing considerable cost savings to farming. With a number of chemical storage tanks and industrial tanks suitable for storing pesticides securely and safely, browse our website for more details.
