Ferrari Fans ErP compliance
12-12-2012
Ferrari announce compliance with the ErP Directive 327/2011 in force from 01 January 2013
"FERRARI GREEN BREATH"
The Commission Regulation (EU) No 327/2011 is related to ecodesign requirements for fans
The first phase (tier 1) comes into force on the 1st January 2013.
The regulation sets out minimum efficiencies for fans driven by motors with an electrical input power between 125W and 500kW. Fans placed in the market for the first time from 01 January 2013 must comply with the minimum efficiency grade which is based on the electrical input power and therefore encompasses both the fan efficiency and the motor efficiency.
It will be illegal to introduce a fan onto the market after 2012 that does not comply.
Fans placed on the market from 01 January 2013 will have to bear the CE mark and have the following additional information displayed on the label
• Overall efficiency of the fan
• Measurement category with respect to test methods applied (type A, B, C or D)
• Efficiency category (static or total)
• Energy efficiency of the fan at the operating point of maximum efficiency
• Use or otherwise of an inverter
A second phase (tier 2) of tighter efficiency grades will come into force on the 1st January 2015.
Fans exempt or out of scope of this regulation are:
• Fans with an input power of less than 125W or greater than 500kW
• ATEX fans for potentially explosive atmospheres
• Fans dedicated for extraction of fumes only in emergency cases
• Fans for conveying materials
• Fans designed for environments that are toxic, corrosive or inflammable or that contain abrasive substances
• Fans for channelling air higher than 100°C
