Research Scientist Materials Development

Our manufacturing client is seeking a Research Scientist - Materials Development based in Abingdon. This is a full time permanent position with a salary of £30k - £60k depending on experience. Role and Responsibilities: • Propose, design and conduct experiments to provide new anode material options. • Develop improved materials and intellectual property for application. • Remain current on new technological developments and monitoring of literature • Understand a range of analytical and electrochemical characterisation techniques, together with statistical methods • Apply scientific excellence. Maintain comprehensive and accurate records • Meet business objectives. • Promote creativity and the effectiveness • Offer input on technical and IP strategies and plans. Support the filing, exemplification and examination of new intellectual property. Produce project progress reports as required. Requirements: • PhD or MSc with significant proven skills in synthetic methods and novel materials development. • Experience in a diverse range of organic and inorganic methods, silicon chemistry and nanoparticles would be particularly desirable • An understanding of electrochemistry • An understanding of material science and electrochemistry • Competent and confident with statistical methods and structured experimentation • Strong planning and communication skills • A passion for laboratory work and new product development • Competence with a variety of materials synthesis and characterisation methods • Experience working on collaborative projects in a fast acting, results driven environment • Demonstrable experience of having worked in a project team, as well as an individual, in an industrial research and development environment in high tech industry would be favoured Please click on apply or send your CV directly to our team and quote Ref: FT2631 FINTEC recruit specialise in Technical, Engineering, Finance, Legal and Business Support roles for permanent and contract positions, UK and International.
