Liquid penetration an non-destructive test method in which a liquid penetrant is applied to the surface of the material under inspection, the liquid seeps in to any surface flaws by capillary action.
This method of inspection reveals all types of surface defects for example:
Location
Cracks
Laps
Porosity
Laminations
Shrinkage
Liquid penetration is an excellent method for detection of minute surface discontinuities that can affect either the functionality or final appearance.
