New Plate Heat Exchanger From FUNKE
19-07-2020
From "Heat-Exchanger-World.com | 29 July 2020"
FUNKE Apparatebau GmbH, a leading manufacturers of quality heat exchangers, has revised parts of its plate heat exchanger range, by bring two new sealed plate heat exchangers, the FP2000 and FP4000 series, to the market as of July 2020.
The FP2000 series has DN 50 connectors and the FP4000 series, DN 100 connectors. Both series have a considerable increase in their efficiency in the areas of heat transfer and pressure loss and this improved performance has been achieved without changing the external dimensions or connection dimensions. As a result, existing customers can use the new plates without having to invest in new frames.
The improvement of the surface structure of the new heat exchange plates has been achieved with the aid of flow simulations with the design being perfected by CFD for the best possible relationship between pressure loss and heat transfer. A new bypass stop system is also responsible for optimum heat transfer.
There are also some improvements of performance in the area of the gaskets, where a ‘clip-on’ ensures that the gaskets are seated perfectly even after multiple opening of the plate frames. They also have a higher pressure resistance.
A further advantage is that the new heat exchangers are more compact than the previous model so high performance is often achieved with fewer plates. This reduction in the number of plates logically leads to reduced maintenance work and expense for the heat exchangers.
The core areas of use of the heat exchangers are heating and air conditioning technology, machine and plant manufacture, and drive and process technology.
