GGB Expands Production in China

SUZHOU, PRC -- GGB Bearing Technology (Suzhou) Co., Ltd., is relocating its operations to a larger production facility in the Suzhou New District (SND). The company held a groundbreaking ceremony for the new plant on March 11 with its senior management team, government officials and local dignitaries in attendance. The 9,000 m2 plant will be shared with Stemco, another EnPro Industries unit which manufactures seals and hub caps for the trucking industry. It is scheduled for completion by the end of this year. “This is a major milestone for GGB in China,” said Susan Sweeney, President of GGB Bearing Technology. “The facility will enable us to better serve our existing customers here and provide capacity to further expand our base with new ones.” GGB Plant Manager Michael Feng added, “Our new plant will be twice the size of the facility we had been occupying. This will allow us to expand production to meet increasing customer demands and accommodate the rapid growth of our business. The plant will produce GGB’s main product lines to meet our local customers’ needs.” GGB opened its first manufacturing facility in China in Suzhou Industrial Park (SIP) in 2008.
