Glazing Refurbishment have recently completed the maintenance and repair package of 296no windows at London's most prestigious art gallery. To maintain the buildings art-deco exterior replacement was not an option. Our specialist window refurbishment division set about rejuvenating the existing windows by replacing all the existing hardware with industry standard equivalents, all exterior gaskets and seals were replaced with new to improve the buildings energy efficiency. Once all exterior works were complete a safety film was applied to all glazing. The film application meant all windows were upgraded to meet current health and safety legislation therefore conforming to all insurance requirements. Throughout the UK commercial windows, although now dated, are often manufactured/installed to a higher standard than their modern replacements. These windows are often replaced at a very high cost due to either water ingress, defective weather/gasket seals or failure of the opening mechanism, locks hinges, Health and Safety requirements or because of defective double glazed units.
