FIRST PHASE OF NETWORK RAIL PROJECT

Curtain Walling UK have this weekend undertaken the first Phase of our project working alongside Network Rail as part of their new bridge building projects. Phase 1 is the smallest of three large projects that will see us install two more bridges in the coming months. Due to the unique problems posed on conducting construction works on the Network Rail system, UKCW worked with their project team to design and manufactured a unitised curtain walling system. This type of system allows for the off-site manufacture of the components allowing for much quicker installation on site as well as improved quality control and preparation With the system manufactured, the sections were transported to site from our manufacturing facility and craned in to position over a weekend minimising disruption to the rail network. Our team will remobilise this week to commence with the glazing installation to the unitised system before handover to Network Rail.
