Glazing Refurbishment have recently installed 6no over sized spandrel panels to the interior restaurant of Mayfair's most prestigious hotel. Working alongside the main building contractor and architect, Glazing Refurbishment carried out the installation after careful pre-manufacture colour matching. After client approval a distinctive emerald green colour was chosen. The bespoke shapes meant careful templating was carried out followed by fabrication and fitting of stainless steel frames and finally out of hours glass installation. Glazing refurbishment can supply and install spandrel glass in numerous shades ranging from green to bronze. The colour of spandrel that is chosen is particularly important, since the colour will affect the overall appearance of the building that it is applied to. When carefully matched with similar colours, spandrel becomes the ideal option for all types of buildings. Due to the fact that spandrel glass is created using intense heating methods, this glass is particularly resistant to thermal conditions. In addition to attributing to the uniform appearance of a building, spandrel can also be used to supply specific areas of a building with heat, since it has excellent thermal capabilities. Various industrial buildings have been lined with spandrel in order to trap and maintain solar heat.
