The positive element of the type K thermocouple alloy the negative being T2. The thermocouple can be used up to 1250C in oxidising atmospheres and is the probably the most common in use. It is also the positive element of the type E thermocouple with Constantan as the negative; the thermoelectric power of type E thermocouples is the highest amongst all standard couples
