Goudsmit Delivers Cost Reductions

Goudsmit UK recently delivered cost reductions for a client in the manufacture of aluminium extrusions, of various lengths, which are used in premium radiators. The brief was to provide a cost saving, while offering solutions to the client’s logistical needs. Goudsmit UK proposed to hold stock in our warehouse in Holland, at no extra cost. This stock would be QA approved and ready for shipment at one day’;s notice. This ensured that the client was able to quickly access stock, as and when it was needed, without the concern of long shipping and lead times. In addition, Goudsmit UK were able to further cut down on this client’s working capital by invoicing the goods, only when they were delivered to the client. Shown below are images of the extrusion, which was produced using 6063-T6 Aluminium. The part was then given a polished finish, which matched that of the end cap of the radiator. Goudsmit UK performed Finite Element Analysis on the extrusion to show the heat dissipation through the radiator at a water temperature of 80ºC and at a room temperature of 10ºC. Below is a graphical representation of this analysis. An ongoing cost reduction exercise is now in progress. Goudsmit UK aim to supply the full assembly, including the end cap, which is welded onto the extrusion, as well as the BSP fittings. In addition Goudsmit will perform a full QA inspection, including leak testing on the unit as per the client’s specifications.
