Dragknife Cutting This process involves a sharp blade being dragged through a material whilst being controlled by a CAD/CAM system, allowing cost effective manufacture of small batch runs. Consequently, prototyping can be undertaken without incurring the cost of tooling. This process is most suited to cutting thin solid materials such as rubber and plastics up to a thickness of 3mm.
