DanceUKTV will be streaming a live video feed from the Lord Mayor's City Hall, a venue for Brave New Future: Opportunities in the Wider World conference. Harlequin Floors' Group Marketing Manager, Mark Rasmussen is participating in the Panel session on Future Funding for Dance. This will be online, live from 11.40am on DanceUK TV on Friday 10th April. Mark is also participating in a panel discussing Harlequin Floors’ innovative approach to sponsoring events that are designed to encourage and nurture young dance talent and it’s wider support for healthier dance. Mark will outline Harlequin’s financial support for dance injury facilities in the UK and backing for worldwide research that leads to injury reduction. During a panel session to discuss future funding for dance, Mark will also describe how Harlequin Floors encourages young talent through the support of competitions such as the Prix de Lausanne and the RAD’s Genée. The four-day conference - The Future: New Ideas, New Inspirations - opens in London, April 9th and runs until 12th April. Dance UK, organisers of the event, say this will unite the voices of UK dance and lead to a new policy document which will be published on ‘International Dance Day,’ 29th April. The Panel Session, “New Ideas/New Models - Increasing Support for the Sector” will take place at the Mayor’s Offices on London’s Southbank on Friday 10th April and will be chaired by John Nicholls. Panelists are Louise Richards, Motionhouse; Mark Rasmussen, Harlequin Floors; Nick Mason, BeyondMe; Clare Titley, Arts Council England; and Sarah Thirtle, Creative United. The panel session “The Future of Dancers' Health (Healthier Dancer)” will take place at the Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in Greenwich on Saturday 11th April and will be chaired by Daniel Watson, Company Physiotherapist with The Royal Ballet. Panelists are Dr. Emma Redding, Head of Dance Science at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance; Prof Matthew Wyon, Professor in Dance Science at University of Wolverhampton; Helen Laws, Manager of the National Institute of Dance Medicine and Science; and Mark Rasmussen.
