Harlequin dance floors for ImPulsTanz in Vienna

When ImPulsTanz opens on 16th July in Vienna, it will be the culmination of a busy installation and logistics planning exercise between the festival organisers and exclusive dance floor partners Harlequin Floors, to transform the performance venues with new dance floors. With access to some of the venues only possible a few days ahead of opening night, efficient planning and organization is called for to clean sub floors before moving in 145 rolls of vinyl weighing some 12 000 Kg, laying 5 800m² of Harlequin Duo vinyl dance floor and taping joins ready for the dancers to take to the floor. The Harlequin floors for ImPulsTanz offer a change from the usual grey, with red, yellow and bright green joining the palette of colours deployed. Festival Artistic Director Ismael Ivo said, “The colourful floors inspire creativity in dancers and teachers alike and instantly create a ‘feel good’ atmosphere when one enters the studios.” The partnership with ImPulsTanz - Vienna International Dance Festival is the biggest entered into by Harlequin which started a five year co-operation when the old, end of life floors previously used were deemed ready for replacement. The partnership originated from a telephone call from the organisers of ImPulsTanz who already had Harlequin as their first choice. The decision to choose a Harlequin dance vinyl was based on other reasons apart from the colour scheme. Foremost the fact that the floors provide secure working environments for the dancers.
