‘Hi-Shine’ On You Crazy Diamond

Harlequin’s Hi-Shine Black vinyl floor used in the visual spectacular, Pink Floyd Exhibition at London’s V&A
Celebrating 50 years since the band released their first single, London’s Victoria and Albert Museum has dedicated three of its galleries to a Pink Floyd exhibition, as a tribute to many aspects of the band’s history.
The exhibition ‘Pink Floyd: Their Mortal Remains’, which opened on 13 May and will run for a total of 20 weeks, is the unique collaboration of at least a dozen different companies including lighting, rigging, video and artefact handling.
Used in a number of the suitably psychedelic rooms throughout the exhibition journey is Harlequin’s Hi-Shine Black vinyl, that gives clean and flawless reflections and adds impact to one of the key parts of the exhibition’s production; the lighting.
The project’s design was headed up by world leading entertainment architects and longtime stage designers for Pink Floyd, Stufish. Stufish CEO, Ray Winkler’s aim for the exhibition, with so many involved, was to make sure that all the elements of the show, such as lighting, sound and scenery all came together cohesively. Looking at the finished project, Harlequin’s Hi-Shine Black vinyl was another seamless brick in the wall.
