It was a ‘7 to Smoke battle’ as Harlequin welcomed Boy Blue Entertainment to help roll out Harlequin’s new FreeStyle dance floor at MoveIT, the UK’s major dance event in London.
Crowds gathered around the Harlequin Floors stand when members of Boy Blue guested to stage Harlequin’s first 7 to Smoke battle on the new FreeStyle floor. Harlequin FreeStyle was developed as an ideal floor for street and hip-hop in conjunction with Boy Blue Entertainment. Competition was intense as visitors to MoveIT were called up by Boy Blue members to show their moves on the specially installed floor. The winners were chosen by the cheers of the crowd. A competitor smoking out seven successive challengers was acclaimed a winner. The event generated a great buzz. Rajpal Pardesi for Boy Blue shared the excitement and added that after MoveIT “we don't get a moment to rest as we went straight into rehearsals for 2 other shows.“
FreeStyle was developed specifically to meet the needs of hip-hop and street dancers who want to move freely and safely when wearing rubber soled shoes, which calls for a dance floor with less slip-resistance. In creating FreeStyle, Harlequin worked closely with experts in these dance styles. Commenting on their role in the floor’s evolution, Boy Blue Entertainment said, “We are proud to be part of the development process for Harlequin’s FreeStyle flooring, specifically designed with genres of street dance in mind.” It’s also a great floor for Jazz, Contemporary, Aerobics, Zumba and drama as well.
