Launching this week at Move IT is Harlequin FreeStyle, developed as an ideal floor for street and hip-hop in conjunction with Boy Blue Entertainment.
Developed specifically to meet the needs of hip-hop and street dancers who want to move freely and safely when wearing rubber soled shoes, which calls for a dance floor with less slip-resistance. In creating FreeStyle, Harlequin worked closely with experts in these dance styles. Commenting on their role in the floor’s evolution, Boy Blue Entertainment said, “We are proud to be part of the development process for Harlequin’s FreeStyle flooring, specifically designed with genres of street dance in mind.” It’s also a great floor for Jazz, Contemporary, Aerobics, Zumba and drama as well.
Visitors to Move IT can try it out for themselves in the ‘Harlequin Dance Off’ where a Harlequin FreeStyle surface on a Liberty sprung sub-floor will be a central focus of the British Harlequin stand (130) from Friday 7th to Sunday 9th March at Olympia. Judges of the ‘Harlequin Dance Off’ are drawn from RAD, Tap Attack and Boy Blue Entertainment.
Boy Blue Entertainment is an award-winning hip-hop dance company founded in London by choreographer Kenrick ‘H20’ Sandy and composer Michael ‘Mikey J’ Asante. The Company is proud to be home to some of the UK’s most sought-after hip-hop artists. In 2009 BBE became Associate Artists at the Barbican, London.
