Studio at No.6
Studio at No.6 opened its doors last year, offering locals in and around Hassocks the chance to dance in a studio created for movement and wellbeing.
Sally-Ann Hayes, the Director and Owner of Studio at No.6, also runs the local dance school, Let’s Dance, with her mother, Robin. Opening Studio at No.6 allowed Sally-Ann and Robin to move the dance school from the local village hall to a new studio space. Sally-Ann said: “When an opportunity came up to have our own studio, I jumped at the chance!”
Studio at No.6 gave the Let’s Dance school the opportunity to expand. Sally-Ann explained: “We can now offer even more classes as we have our own space. It also means we can welcome other companies that want to hire the dance studio.”
The move to Studio at No.6 meant that the students could train on a Harlequin floor, taking part in ballet, tap and modern dance classes. Sally-Ann chose a Harlequin Flexity sprung floor with a Harlequin Cascade vinyl top surface as well as ballet barres and mirrors. She said: “We knew that we wanted to renovate the old hair salon into the most beautiful space and who else would we have gone to but Harlequin to provide a perfect environment for anyone using it! The flooring not only looks smart, it feels fantastic under foot. Providing both safety and confidence for our dancers.”
Studio at No.6 is located on the Hassocks high street next to a dance shop called Dancewear on the Move. The studio is mainly used for dance, yoga and pilates however the space has also been used for workshops and photoshoots.
