Today is a momentous day as theatres across the country re-open their doors.
The global pandemic has had a disastrous effect on the theatre industry, but as of today they are allowed to re-open. The 21st of June brings the next significant day in the theatre industry, when they can once again perform to full audiences.
The re-opening of theatres across the UK is celebrated with the #backonstage campaign, where more than 40 of the London shows will be showcased across throughout certain zones on the London Underground. The advertising campaign will also feature touching images captured from theatre wings, showing the unique sense of anticipation and excitement that a live show brings – a feeling that has been dearly missed during the pandemic. As part of the campaign, theatre goers are also being encouraged to share their first pre-lockdown theatre experience on social media, using the hashtag #backonstage.
