Even more reason to go coreless
19-11-2008
Mountains of recyclable rubbish are building up at council sites across the country because the market for re-processing and selling it has collapsed.
Until the economic downturn, a lot of the waste picked up from kerbside collections was shipped overseas for re-use in countries such as China.
But the global credit crunch has seen demand - and prices - drop to zero and firms that would previously have paid for re-usable rubbish are now asking for money to take it away.
