Founded in 1979, Hone-All Precision Limited has successfully extended its remit to become a leading single source manufacturer of precision machined components. Specialising in deep hole boring,
deep hole drilling, CNC turning, CNC honing and milling, the Leighton
Buzzard-based subcontractor provides a complete manufacturing
service – from sourcing raw materials through to producing quality machined components.
In particular Hone-All has the expertise to produce high length-to-diameter ratio holes, often in difficult to machine materials such as Inconel and Hastelloy, while guaranteeing excellent surface
finish and straightness. In terms of deep hole drilling this equates to a surface finish of 0.8 μm/32 CLA and a total runout (TIR) of 0.025.Following the recent commissioning of two Sunnen horizontal tube honing machines ideally suited to applications requiring high stock removal rates on larger diameter components, BS EN ISO 9001:2008/BS EN 9100:2009-accredited Hone-All has now installed a long bed gundrill and an additional small CNC lathe. In addition to this, the Hone-All team is looking forward to the delivery of a new Tuscan LC38 4150 mm between centres CNC lathe with a 230 mm bore through the spindle. This additional capacity means Hone-All will be able to deep hole bore tube components with much thinner wall thicknesses than can be machined on an equivalent capacity deep hole boring machine. This latest investment will be supported by an increased CMM capability and the installation of an additional CNC vertical hone to meet a growing demand from precision cylinder manufacturers.
“Allied to a consistent capital investment programme we have all the skills needed to tackle some very challenging projects, added to which our relocation in 2008 to much larger premises has produced the quality controlled and efficient production environment essential to competing
successfully,” says Colin Rodney, Hone-All’s Managing Director. “We are
totally focused on providing a reliable, flexible and competitive service in terms of the precision machining of high valueadded components, especially where this involves difficult-to-machine materials that demand both specialist knowledge and the right equipment.”
