Cyber Essentials Plus Certification Success

Houlder has announced successful certification with the UK Government Cyber Essentials Plus scheme. Cyber Essentials Plus is a government-backed, industry supported scheme to help organisations protect themselves against common cyber-attacks. Previously self-assessed, as of this month, Houlder has now been successfully audited by DigitalXRaid confirming we have appropriate cyber security measures in place across the business. Cyber Essentials Plus The Cyber Essentials programme is described as a set of IT system controls which, when properly implemented, provide companies and organisations with basic protection from the most prevalent forms of threats coming from the internet. Information Assurance for Small & Medium Enterprises, (IASME), Information Security Forum (ISF) and the British Standards Institution (BSI) collaborated on the project. The scheme has been mandatory for suppliers of Government contracts which involve handling personal information since October 2014. Any organisation or individual coming into contact with Houlder’s IT infrastructure can be confident in the company’s approach to the following. •Boundary firewalls and internet gateways •Secure configuration •Access control •Malware protection •Software Patch management The above demonstrates that Houlder has in place best practice procedures to prevent malicious files entering the organisation through either web traffic or email messages.
