Howe Green has been shortlisted as a finalist in this year’s Pro Landscaper Business Awards 2022 for the Industry Collaboration category.
For over 15 years, Howe Green and leading fit-out contractor, DMC Contracts, have collaborated on some of the UK’s highest-profile construction projects, providing seamless installations of high-quality access solutions.
Throughout 2021, Howe Green and DMC Contracts partnered on the development of Europe’s largest current infrastructure project, the Elizabeth line, to provide safe and concealed access to under-floor services throughout key train stations across the 60-mile route.
Over the last year, 1,144 Howe Green 7500 Series Access Covers in bespoke and standard specifications have been installed throughout the ticket halls, walkways and main concourses of Whitechapel, Bond Street and Ealing Broadway stations.
Manufactured to BS 476: Part 22, Howe Green’s 7500 Series Floor Access Covers provide resistance to fire and smoke for up to two hours, delivering the highest standards in safety, performance and compliance throughout the stations.
Over the last five years, DMC Contracts’ team of engineers have installed over 1,500 of Howe Green’s standard and bespoke access covers throughout a total of seven stations as part of the Elizabeth Line project, including Farringdon, Paddington, West Ealing and Acton Mainline.
The floor access covers have been installed in conjunction with the chosen floor tile module of each station to create a flush, unbroken visual appeal that reflects the unique interior of each development, whilst also withstanding the high levels of projected footfall.
Due to the resilient design of the stainless steel 7500 Series, the floor access covers provide the highest standards of security and durability, whilst also ensuring minimal disruption to passengers when the access covers are in use by maintenance or service engineers.
The success of the project was achieved due to Howe Green and DMC Contracts’ combined commitment to construction excellence. Working in partnership to oversee every aspect of the project, from the initial design and specification stages, right through to installation and maintenance, the strong relationship between the leading suppliers ensured project timescales were maintained, whilst providing the highest standards of performance and aesthetics.
Manufacturing and supplying for a project of this magnitude has really shown the industry what Howe Green and DMC Contracts’ partnership is capable of, including bespoke specifications, significant quantities of stock in the shortest lead times, first-class installations and customer service excellence. Both companies are extremely proud of the quality of output that has been achieved on one of their biggest collaboration projects to date.
