Corten steel was chosen for its natural ageing properties, think of The Angel of The North, whereby the external “rusted” coating forms a natural protective barrier to the steel underneath producing a long lasting structure which will be a part of the surrounding landscape.
The 3 sided free standing monolith signs consisted of stencil cut panels welded internally and externally with acrylic directional arrows. The additional wayfinding triangular and post-mounted directional signage was also stencil cut with matching acrylic directional arrows.
