What do the very best driving instructors offer their pupils that their competitors don’t?
The answer is:”Video Recordings of the Pupils Driving Lessons”
…which the pupil can take away with them, to review and
continue learning from between lessons!
Just imagine how much benefit your pupils will get from being able to review their driving lessons over and over again on their home computer between their actual driving lessons.
Away from the stresses and strains of controlling the car and the need to concentrate on using the gears, clutch, brakes and other unfamiliar controls, they’ll have time to reflect on other important issues like;
where they had positioned the car on the road in relation to that corner, junction, entrance or exit, etc.
were they using the mirrors properly …and at the right time?
were they looking in the right direction?
did they anticipate those traffic lights changing, or make allowances for other drivers actions?
…and lots more.
They’ll be able to approach each new lesson with more confidence and a clear understanding of the things they need to pay more attention to. They’ll also be able to bring to each new lesson, questions about those areas they didn’t fully understand or feel they need extra guidance on.
So it really is a no brainer; a WIN : WIN situation for the instructor (who’s life is made easier) and for the pupil who gets massive added benefit from every lesson.
So what do you need and how does it work?
The Technology;
The clever dual camera, in-car image recorder from Insight Security simply clips on to your windscreen like a Sat-Nav system and is powered from your cigarette lighter socket (so it’s easy to remove from your car when it’s not in use).
The tiny camera / digital recorder unit features back to back high resolution cameras which simultaneously record the drivers view through the windscreen, while the inward facing camera records the driver and what’s happening in the cab.
Images (and audio soundtrack) are recorded on to low cost SD memory cards (the type used in compact digital cameras), with about 1 hour of continuous high resolution recording from the system (2 cameras plus audio) using about 1GB of card memory, …so an 8GB card will have the capacity to store around 8 one hour lessons.
The SD cards can be played back on any computer, so if you have a laptop in the car, you could even interrupt the lesson to instantly review any particular incident, to cement an important point in the pupils mind (no need to sketch diagrams and talk through what just happened – see in on film for instant, maximum impact).
The playback shows images from both cameras simultaneously on the screen, with accompanying audio soundtrack. So the pupil can watch their actions and reactions, while also watching the road view that they were actually seeing at the time.
They will also be able to see the speed they were travelling at, ...and the "G-shock" sensor graph indicates any sharp braking or erratic movements of the vehicle
Think about it for a second... This is a great opportunity to set yourself apart from other Driving Instructors in your area. You could make an absolute killing!
