Easi-Dec, the working at height safety specialist, has supplied over £50,000 worth of its Solar Access Systems to a solar panel installation company who are using the platforms to fit and service their solar panel orders. Ideal Solar Energy specialises in installing energy saving solar technologies. With trained technicians based throughout the UK, the team are currently achieving multiple residential installs per day. Following a company assessment, Ideal Solar Energy calculated that by switching from scaffolding to an access platform, it could save around £270 per property. With both current and future expectations of use, the company purchased six Easi-Dec Solar Access Systems. “We looked around at the various options before settling on the Easi-Dec system” said Pete Daley, Operations Director at Ideal Solar Energy. “A key factor in us opting for this product was that Easi-Dec was able to demonstrate the Solar Access System on site, allowing our team to understand how to use it. For the first days of Ideal Solar Energy using our systems, we had an Easi-Dec Sales Engineer on site and he ensured we were working with the system correctly and ironed out any problems we were having.” Ideal Solar Energy purchased the equipment in April 2013 and has already completed numerous projects. As the system can be assembled and dismantled in 30 minutes, installers are able to arrive on site, install the system, complete the maintenance job and leave the property on a strict schedule. With this in mind, Ideal Solar Energy has calculated that once our Easi-Dec systems have been used on 2000 projects it will have made a saving of £277,000. Easi-Dec’s Solar Access System has been designed to gain safe access up to roof level, typically smaller thermal solar jobs. This releases installers from depending on scaffolding, which is expensive and extends the time spent on a project. The Solar Access System comprises 2 telescopic Decs and a Catwalk which will provide an 8 m or 10 m long working platform. Further Decs and Catwalks can be added to provide a limitless modular system. The system also includes a rolling window bar, strap operated legs and a purpose designed hoist for lifting solar panels to roof level. The platforms offer a safe stable work place combined with certified edge protection. Using Easi-Dec’s Solar Access System allows the freedom to carry out work at a moment’s notice without having to liaise with a third party company. The Solar Access System does not require any tools for assembly, making it quick and simple to construct. The Solar Access System can be transported in either a transit type van or on a roof rack. Easi-Dec also offer free demonstrations of their Solar Access Systems to ensure that the customer can get the most out of the equipment by knowing exactly how to erect the platform and gain access to the roof level safely. The demonstrations can be held at either the Easi-Dec premises, the premise of the customer, or on site. With each system sold there is free certified training for up to 8 people. The Solar Platform is perfect for smaller installation jobs, but still has a complete range of modular accessories, making it the perfect solution for all types of installations. Alternative leg lengths means installers can cover the majority of properties. The Rolling Window Bar provides a continuous platform support for load distribution. Particularly useful on claddings, tile hangings, rendered substrates and where the platform is to be positioned over window openings. The system copes with uneven or sloping ground as each leg is individually height adjusted in increments of 30 mm.
