Easi Dec, the working at height safety specialist, will be exhibiting at this year’s Solar Energy UK exhibition in Birmingham. Visitors to the three day event, which begins on 14th October, will be able to familiarise themselves with Easi-Dec products on stand P5. Easi-Dec offers safe access systems developed specifically with the solar industry in mind. Its access systems incorporate an access platform with an integral lifting mechanism for solar panel installations, and provide a safer and cost-effective alternative to scaffolding. The team will be on hand throughout the exhibition to inform visitors about its range of products, offer advice on which systems to use for different applications and provide information on how to book onto training courses. Easi-Dec will also be running a competition during the course of the show. Easi-Dec’s Solar Access System has been designed to gain safe access up to roof level, typically smaller thermal solar jobs. This releases installers from depending on scaffolding, which is expensive and extends the time spent on a project. The Solar Access System comprises 2 telescopic Decs and a Catwalk which will provide an 8 m or 10 m long working platform. Further Decs and Catwalks can be added to provide a limitless modular system. The system also includes a rolling window bar, strap operated legs and a purpose designed hoist for lifting solar panels to roof level. The platforms offer a safe stable work place combined with certified edge protection. The Easi-Dec solar ladder offers a safe, practical way of working when installing or maintaining solar panel arrays. The bridging ladder provides 23 cm clearance from the roof to the underside of the stile, allowing plenty of work space, and up to 4.6 m free span over the roof. To use, the ladder is simply rolled up the roof on its soft rubber wheels and then flipped 90˚ into position over the ridge. The special roof hook can be fixed to any rung, enabling the ladder to fit any roof with the excess length flying the ridge. Easi-Dec’s joist safety matting, designed specifically for the safe laying of loft insulation between joists, will also be on show. Made from hollow aluminium slats that roll up into a tight bundle, the mats are available for both 400mm and 600mm joist centres and in 1m lengths capable of being joined if required. The top side of the slats has been fitted with anti-slip strips, whilst the undersides are covered in heavy duty rubber to guard against electric shock.
