Kingly is to become the best sock manufacturer in Europe. That is what Chris Edmonds, the new Operations Director at Kingly, stated in a recent interview published on the company’s website. He shared his ambitions to double the production capacity of Kingly's sock knitting facility within six months.
“Over time we can introduce more machinery into the manufacturing unit. We can make many other different products. And the more we can offer our customers, the happier our customers can be. That is important. Customers are everything”, Edmonds emphasized.
Edmonds believes that Kingly’s zero-waste sock knitting facility, strategically located in the heart of Europe, holds immense potential. While the company has primarily focused on promotional products, Edmonds sees opportunities to expand into technical products such as ski socks, cycling socks, and football socks.
“There is a lot more that Kingly can do. I am sure in a short time we will be doing that. My goal is to make Kingly the best sock manufacturer in Europe. That is why I am here”, said Edmonds. He added that enhancing production efficiency and transparency for customers is already in progress, aiming to deliver superior socks much faster to meet customer needs.
A true passion for Edmonds lies in creating technical socks. He notes that the market is saturated with products that claim to be technical but fail to deliver on those promises. Edmonds has dedicated his career to understanding the needs of the end-user when developing a product.
“Talking about technical socks is not just about leaving aside the general socks that we are making. I aim to make the general socks much better than what we have been making them. We can look at different yarns. We can make them so that pilling is not so prevalent after 10 wears. We can make them so we can put antibacterial finishes on them. We have already started to do that at Kingly”, he concluded.
