Hillhead Quarrying & Construction Show
13-02-2013
The 2012 edition of the Hillhead Quarrying & Construction Show ran for three days last week. Once again, the action took place in the bottom of an actual quarry - the optimal spot for displaying the latest and greatest in construction and mining equipment.

The success of such a show, like any other event held outdoors in Britain, depends heavily on the weather and last week the weather in the Peak District presented a few challenges. The first two days of the show were ideal, the sun was regularly showing itself from behind the clouds and the temperature in the quarry was neither too hot nor too cold. Previous years have seen the temperature amplified to uncomfortable levels - the sun reflecting off the yellow and white sandstone sides, the air trapped in a confined space.
KTR exhibited in the main pavilion, showcasing its range of hydraulic components and couplings suited for diesel power applications. On our stand were BoWex FLE-PA and MONOLASTIC flange couplings, both prominently featured in the ranges of JCB and Caterpillar. A full size OAC oil cooler and a BSK steel tank, with an assortment of accessories, were also on the stand that drew a good deal of attention.
