Key Lasermet staff attended the Laser Safety Forum at Loughborough University this year.
Phil Jones - Marketing Manager, Steve Geldard - Business Development Manager and Dr Anna Bass - Laser Protection Adviser, all made the most of the forum meeting presentations.
Of particular note during the presentation by Marc Schmidt was the involvement of Lasermet in the installation of a 16kW fibre laser at the University of Manchester.
Lasermet installed the new active guard system - Laser Jailer- to prevent laser damage outside the three laser safety enclosures.
On top of this, Lasermet's Project Manager set up the three Kuka robots and organised the installation process of the three robotic cells. The laser safety interlock control was provided by Lasermet's new ICS15-XM advanced interlock controller providing the communications link between the laser jailer, the fibre laser and safety interlocks.
