NPL and Lasermet launch Optoblok

NPL and Lasermet have joined forces to launch Optoblok - the Optical Table Laser Guarding System - (an NPL / Lasermet joint venture product) Optoblok Lasermet and the National Physical Laboratory have jointly developed Optoblok, the latest laser blocking safety system for optical labs. Optoblok, the Optical Table Laser Guarding System is designed to minimise the chance of any stray laser beams being accidentally pointed at workers in the optical lab. The system is modular and neatly fits on to optical tables providing a 300mm high protective wall. It consists of certified laser blocking walled panels, posts which are screwed into the table and straight or right angled channel posts to connect the wall panels together. Panel sections are in optical table unit lengths of 2,3,4,5,8,12 and 16 for optimisation, and both metric and imperial tables are suitable. Maintaining operator access The 300mm wall around the table improves the degree of safety while maintaing access for the engineers.
