TechSpan Arches Installed at Heads of the Valley Road Dualling Scheme

150 TechSpan arches are installed by Reinforced Earth Company Limited (RECo) as part of the associated access requirements for A465 Dualling Section 3 Scheme in the Heads of the Valleys, South Wales. The 26t arches, precast by Macrete to strict specification will form the 18m wide, 9m high and 150m long underpass which will carry the Welsh Water access road, footpath and spillway channel beneath the new embankment being constructed to carry the new carriageways above the Carno Valley, Rassau, Ebbw Vale. TechSpan is a patented modular precast concrete arch system suitable for highways, rail, mining and hydraulic applications. The A465 dualling scheme is being delivered by the Welsh Government to improve journey times and drive regeneration along this vital Trans European Network link between Ireland and the Midlands.
