A Touch of Individuality from Marley Eternit
28-11-2010
Marley Eternits Natura Plus fibre cement cladding has been specified by architects to update the facade on Atkinsons store in Sheffield.
The owners of the 1960s building felt that a complete overhaul of the facade was required to create the right image for the stores brand messages – independent and individual.
Approximately 350 square metres of Natura Plus panels were supplied for the project. This was fixed as an over-clad solution, helping to mask the existing concrete facade that had begun to look dated amongst the nearby modern office developments.
Several design features were incorporated in to the Natura Plus facade including stainless steel up lighters that enhance the panels natural fibre cement finish and unique surface appearance.
The Natura Plus panels were supplied in opal to give the building a contemporary appearance and again reflect the stores modern image.
"It is important that we create the right first impression with our customers," said Graham Frith, store manager at Atkinsons. "We are delighted with the outcome of fitting the fibre cement panels and the whole process seemed to be very straight forward resulting in no disruption to our customers."
Natura Plus fibre cement cladding was also specified because of its excellent weather resistant qualities, which will protect the building from the strong winds and rain from the nearby Pennine hills.
Fibre cement cladding provides designers with a cost effective solution for use on both new and refurbishment projects.
